Geary will be looking to earn his first Ireland cap in 2008/09, having been called up for the tour to US in 2007, without featuring
Leaving Rivermount Boys in his native Dublin in 1997, Geary came to Sheffield – but initially it was Wednesday who benefited from his tigerish full-back performances.
He made 121 appearances for the Owls, winning the Player of the Season award in 2001-02. A spell at Stockport County preceded a move back to the Steel City in October 2004 and his £25,000 fee now looks a real bargain.
