Having returned to Ewood after a dissapointing spell at Birmingham, Dunn has yet to recreate the magic of his first spell at the club
A gifted player who likes to break forward and link midfield to attack, Dunn is a former Rovers trainee. Dubbed ‘The New Gazza’ by Ewood fans because of his flair, technical ability and eye for the spectacular, he was an England U21 regular and earned a solitary full cap in a 2002 friendly against Portugal at Villa Park.
But having hit the target 30 times in 135 appearances, he fell out with Rovers boss Graeme Souness and joined Birmingham City for £5.5m in 2003.
Injuries left him as a spectator for much of his four years at St Andrews and he returned to Ewood Park in January 2007 for £2.2m. So far, he has failed to command a regular place in the side.
