Top-scored in 2007/08, however Hibbert now faces stiff competition for places following the arrival of Grant Holt and Richard Walker
The former Port Vale trainee arrived at New Meadow in the summer of 2007 and ended his debut campaign with the Shrews as the club’s top scorer, having plundered 12 goals in his 44 league outings.
He also scored the first ever goal at Town’s new stadium after netting in a pre-season friendly against A-Line All-Stars, who included Gianfranco Zola and Gustavo Poyet in their line-up.
A tall, strong forward and cool dispatcher of spot-kicks, Hibbert left the Valiants for Preston in June 2005 but went on to make just 10 league appearances for the Deepdale outfit, all from the bench, before spending loan spells at Rotherham and Bradford prior to his move to Shropshire.
