Darius Alexis Henderson: crazy name, big bundle of trouble for any defender not ready for a right ol' tussle
Doncaster-born Henderson made his league debut for Reading in March 2000, as a substitute in the 3-0 defeat to Burnley, and scored 11 times before switching to Gillingham in the latter half of the 2003/04 season.
Injuries halted his early progress but after an impressive five goals in six games on loan at Swindon at the start of the following campaign, he returned to Priestfield and netted 11 times in the club’s Championship relegation season.
He then joined Watford for £450,000 with boss Aidy Boothroyd particularly impressed with the 6ft 1in striker's physical presence. He immediately hit it off with Marlon King, netting 14 goals in the club’s promotion season, and while he found the Premier League a much tougher proposition, Henderson found form again in 2007-08.
