Big Danny didn't make the grade at Bolton but has settled in nicely to the Cumbrians' central defence
Despite his age, the Salford-born defender is one of the longest-serving members of the Cumbrians squad, joining the club permanently on Christmas Eve 2004 after a successful month on loan from Bolton Wanderers, where he had made his debut as a 17-year-old in the FA Cup.
He also had brief spells with Rochdale, Notts County and Blackpool but quickly established himself as a first-team regular at Brunton Park with his calm and assured appearances at the back. An imposing figure at 6ft 3in, Livesey is dangerous from set pieces and chipped in with an impressive six goals as the Cumbrians made the League One play-offs in the 2007/08 season.
