The Welsh international has proved himself to be one of the safest pairs of hands in the Football League in recent seasons, having shone at both Grimsby and Burnley since leaving the Wirral after making over 100 appearance for Rovers between 1992 and 1999.
Coyne has been a regular under new Tranmere boss Ronnie Moore and, after traveling back to the club at which he made his name, the evergreen keeper looks set to play a key role in the club’s future.
