French youngster who has become a hit at reserve team level and will be looking to break into the first team squad in the near future
The youngster signed a three-year Anfield contract on the final day of the August 2007 transfer window.
He went on to be a star turn in the Liverpool reserve team, and made his senior debut in April 2008, impressing in the 1-1 draw against Arsenal. The 6ft 3in Frenchman is strong, quick, clever and a fine tackler.
Prior to joining the Reds, he came through the ranks at Lyon, and represented France at the 2007 UEFA European Under-19 Championships. “We’re sure he’ll do well for us,” says his new boss Benitez.
