Striker

A hot-shot in east London with the Daggers, Mackail-Smith continued to bang them in in 2007/08 to help steer the Posh into League One

Goals were not in short supply during Peterborough’s League Two promotion romp and Mackail-Smith, another to be plucked from non-league football by Posh boss Darren Ferguson, contributed 19 in his first season in the Football League.

The striker had spent three seasons at Dagenham & Redbridge before leaving the East London side halfway through their promotion-winning season from the Conference to League Two in January 2007 in a deal worth £125,000. Mackail-Smith scored 38 goals for John Still’s side and brought his scoring boots with him to London Road.

Very exciting player on an up and coming team. Posh havent had this sort of young talent since Davies and Etherington.

Fantastic performance against Bristol Rovers.

CMS main strengths are his tireless running, never giving up, he also uses the ball well, bringing in the wide players.

His finishing in general lets him down, to move to the next level he needs to improve his success ratio on the 1 on 1's.
