Exciting young winger with pace to burn, Humphrey narrowly missed out on the club’s Player of the Year prize in 2008
Emerging talent Humphrey signed for Shrewsbury in September 2006 after impressing – then – manager Gary Peters whilst playing for West Bromwich Albion.
A lightning quick right-winger who terrorises full-backs, Humphrey was soon handed his first-team debut against Lincoln at Gay Meadow, and went on to appear a further 16 times that season, starting in the League Two play-off final against Bristol Rovers at Wembley.
The youngster is still a rough diamond in need of polishing, but continued to impress throughout the 2007/08 campaign, spending a month on loan at Stafford Rangers before returning to action with the Shrews, totalling 28 first-team outings and narrowly missing out on the Player Of The Year award to Marc Tierney.
