An injury-free Calvin Zola will provide a different dimension to the Crewe attack that was severely lacking in the last campaign.
Former Newcastle United youngster Zola is a huge physical presence in attack with an eye for goal, but injuries have held him back in recent years. Signed from Tranmere Rovers in June 2008 on a free transfer the Congolese star will be keen to make himself a regular name on the scoresheet at Gresty Road after suffering a stop-start time at Prenton Park where he scored 18 goals over the course of four seasons. At 6ft 3” and weighing 13st 7lbs Zola makes the ideal target man and although his goals output is not exceptional he is renowned for creating plenty of chances for his team-mates thanks to his unselfish and tireless hold-up play.
