Striker

Strong forward with speed to boot, key member of the 2007/08 Hull team that was promoted into the top flight

Pace and power are the key elements of Folan’s game and the £1m striker scored eight goals in 18 League starts as Tigers won promotion to the Premier League in 2007/08.

Having begun his career with hometown club Leeds, he was loaned out to Rushden & Diamonds and Hull (where he made just one substitute appearance) before joining Chesterfield on a free transfer in February 2003.

He came to prominence as Chesterfield beat Wolves and Man City in the 2006/07 Carling Cup and joined the top flight with Wigan for £500,000 in January 2007, moving on to the KC Stadium seven months later.
