Imposing Scandinavian who has finally found a place to start after playing second fiddle for much of his career
The longest serving player at Turf Moor, Jensen arrived from West Bromwich Albion in 2003 and is known as ‘The Beast’ by Clarets fans on account of his imposing stature and fine command of his area (the name was first given to him by former Baggies keeper Chris Adamson).
The Dane began his career with local side B93 before switching to Dutch side AZ Alkmaar in 1997, where he made just one appearance in three years, playing second fiddle to Oscar Moens.
While waiting for his contract to run out, he trained with West Brom and signed a permanent deal for £100,000 in 2000, but he was a regular for one season before Russell Hoult’s arrival. At Burnley, he has at last had more success, seeing off Danny Coyne and Gabor Kiraly for the number one shirt (even if he does wear 12).
