A cultured midfielder, Prince Harry lookalike Watson is back in the premier league.
Having racked up more than 150 league games before his 23rd birthday, the England U21 midfielder is one of the more experienced members of the Palace side, having made his debut as a 17-year-old towards the end of 2002-03.
Already blessed with excellent vision, a superb range of passing, and a footballing brain which will often produce a killer pass, Watson added tenacious tackling to his game after the arrival of Neil Warnock at the club in October 2007, making him one of the most complete midfielders in the Championship.
The outstanding performer for Palace as they surged into the play-offs in the closing weeks of 2007-08, Watson featured in the club’s 2004-05 Premier League season and many believe he is more than capable of playing at that level again.
Steve Bruce felt so as well as he signed the midfielder for an undisclosed fee during the 2009 winter transfer window for Wigan Athletic.
