Tricky, quick and armed with a wicked delivery McNamee is every defender’s worst nightmare. Adored by the Swindon faithful
The diminutive left-sided midfielder arrived in Wiltshire after Swindon made a double swoop for McNamee and his Watford teammate Mose Ashikodi in January 2008.
The skillful midfielder looked to have a bright future at Vicarage Road after being handed his a first-team start by Gianluca Vialli, during the Italian’s brief spell in charge of the club, at the age of just 19.
McNamee would score his first goal for the club against Gillingham shortly after, and remained part of the Hornets’ plans before being offloaded by Aidy Boothroyd.
Lambeth-born McNamee was immediately thrown into first team action at the County Ground and impressed in the second half of Swindon’s season.
