Free-kick taking left-back, older brother of Tottenham's Michael - Struggled in early days at Forest but made over 150 appearances for City
Like his younger brothers Michael (now Tottenham) and Kevin (ex-Chesterfield and Barnet), Dawson began his career with Nottingham Forest.
He managed just one senior appearance – against Leyton Orient in the Worthington Cup – before being loaned out to Scunthorpe in a deal that became permanent in December 1998 (£70,000). A free-kick specialist, who likes to push forward down the flank and shoot from distance, Dawson moved to the KC Stadium in July 2003.
Damaged knee ligaments during a pre-season friendly with Canvey Island delayed his debut, but the 2007/08 campaign saw him pass the 150-game mark for Tigers.
