With an impressive record under his belt, White returned to Darlington, but received 2 red cards in 6 games
Darlington born and bred, veteran central defender White finally joined his hometown club in May 2007 after making over 300 first-team appearances in the Football League. Originally a trainee with Middlesbrough, he went on to become a fans’ favourite at Colchester United, appearing more than 130 times in four seasons with the U’s.
A rock at the heart of the back-line, he was made team captain by Notts County for the 2006/07 campaign but, following a change of management, ended the season on loan at Peterborough where he scored in three of his seven matches for the Posh, and was released in summer 2007. Now the wrong side of 30, White enjoyed a solid first year as a regular in the Darlo side during 2007/08, but picked up two red cards in the space of six games to slightly spoil his season.
