Hungarian playmaker that played under the ‘Special One’ at Porto. Archetypal number 10 blessed with innate natural ability
Buzsaky started his career in his homeland with MTK Hungaria before switching to Jose Mourinho’s Porto for £400,000 in July 2002.
But after making just three appearances for the Portuguese giants, he was sent out on loan to Academica before a similar spell at Plymouth Argyle towards the end of the 2004/05 season.
With bags of natural ability, the skill to get out of tight spaces and superb passing ability, he was snapped up on a permanent deal by the Pilgrims for £225,000 and played a key role in the club’s rise to the Championship.
Linked with West Brom and Bolton, he instead joined Rangers in October 2007 and with, six goals in his first 13 appearances, he became an instant hit. He now wears the revered Hoops number 10 shirt.
