Best piece of business ever pulled off by Brighton. Sold for £1.5m, taken back for nothing three years later
Defender Virgo rejoined Brighton & Hove Albion on a free transfer from Celtic in the summer of 2008 three years after being sold to the Scottish giants for £1.5million.
The Brighton-born star endured an injury-ravaged spell north of the border which restricted him to just a handful of appearances for the Hoops. A Scotland B international, Virgo spent loan spells with Coventry City and Colchester United before rejoining the Seagulls where it is hoped that he will regain the impressive form that earned him such a lucrative move in 2005.
Regarded as a player with a cultured left foot and calm temperament big things are expected of Virgo on his return to the Withdean.
