Highly-rated midfielder progressed through the youth ranks at Cardiff City before making the switch to north London
The Wales U21 international was targeted by a number of Premier League sides during the summer of 2008, including Manchester United.
But after a stunning season in the Championship with Cardiff City the Welshman decided to join Arsenal and the Londoners secured his services on a long-term contract.
The midfielder became the youngest player ever to represent Wales at U21 level in August 2007, in a 4-3 victory over Sweden.
He has already made the step-up to the Welsh senior squad for their friendly international matches in Iceland and Holland, but was an unused substitute on both occasions.
Ramsey became the youngest ever player to represent the Bluebirds, coming on as a substitute in the League match against Hull City in April 2007, at just 16 years 124 days.
For the upcoming season Ramsey will wear the number 16 shirt vacated by midfield dynamo Mathieu Flamini who left for AC Milan.
Arsene Wenger is confident the young Welshman can fill the void: “He has already shown that he is a very intelligent and mature player with great quality”, beamed Le Professor.
