A proven goalscorer in non-league with Aldershot and Grays, McLean proved his Football League worth in 2007/08 smashing 33 goals
McLean’s goals have been a driving force behind the success of Posh under Ferguson. The diminutive striker arrived at Peterborough for £150,000 in January 2007, and smashed 33 goals as Posh stormed to promotion the following season. McLean began his career as a trainee at Leyton Orient before leaving Brisbane Road for Aldershot in March 2003.
His form has alerted a host of top clubs, include Wolves, who have already had a bid for the striker turned down by the club’s director of football Barry Fry. They are unlikely to be the last suitor tracking his progress.
