The Bosnian striker has been a revelation since moving to the Bundesliga with Wolfsburg in 2007 - can he keep it up?
Born in Satajevo, Džeko started his career with Bosnian side FK Željezničar before moving to Czech outfit FK Teplice in 2006.
His impact in Czech football was instant, topping the goalscoring charts in his first, and ultimately only season in the Czech league, scoring 16 times.
This form alerted Wolfsburg boss Felix Magath, who signed Džeko for €4 million in the summer of 2007. Džeko was in and out of the Wolfsburg side in 2007/08, scoring eight goals in the Bundesliga, before cementing a regular starting berth in 2008/09 and developing into a prolific goalscorer at the top level.
